Summer can be a busy time of year and most people can’t find enough time to practice and improve their games. With the time we have to devote to golf, we would rather play a round than head to the practice tee or green. Consequently, we try and fix our game on the course. More times than not this only leads to too many swing thoughts, which does more harm than good.
Now that the Holidays have past, Winter can provide a little more time that we can use to channel energy toward developing a better putting stroke, sound fundamentals in set up, and a smoother tempo to our golf swing. Most people have a room that is carpeted which they can use as an area to practice their putting stroke. A mirror and pictures of top pros are all that are needed to develop a sound set up at address. There are many drills available that, repeated during regular exercise sessions or even while watching your favorite TV show, will train your muscles to execute a smoother, more repetitive swing next spring. Golf magazines usually have a tip or two that can help or contact us at Marengo Ridge and one our professional staff will help you find a drill right for you.
